Teaching program:

The teaching program for the nursing students is aimed at

• emphasizing the importance of biochemistry in understanding the pathogenesis of the diseases.

• helping students appreciate the rationale for ordering necessary biochemical investigations in patients to diagnose and monitor disease conditions.

• imparting the necessary skills to handle simple point-of-care testing devices like glucometer and urine dipsticks.

To make the teaching program effective, we

• teach students through didactic classroom lectures supplemented with e-learning using the e-learning portal.

• conduct periodic formative assessments to provide feedback to students

• provide assignments on clinically relevant and important topics to develop their skills in self-directed learning.

• conduct practical sessions and discuss clinical case-based charts to reiterate the importance of biochemical tests in diagnosing and monitoring disease conditions.
